A Stuyvesant Plaza Newsletter reader asks:
"When should my junior take the SAT, ACT and Subject Tests? There are so many tests to take and I am confused. Please help!"
We get this question all the time and junior year is when you want to begin all of these tests. The SAT and SAT Subject Tests will be given on: March 13 (SAT only), May 1st, and June 5th. To find out test dates for the Fall, please visit www.collegeboard.org.
The ACT will be given on: April 10th and June 12th. To find out test dates for the Fall for the ACT, please visit www.act.org.
Most juniors aim for the May SAT and then will take an SAT subject test in June and possibly the ACT in June as well.
There are also Fall test dates and students can take the SAT for a second time in October or the ACT for the first time. Most students will do better on the ACT and so they may not even need to prep as much as they do for the SAT.

March Events
Adult Painting Class
Project: Chinese Orchids
Pottery: 12" Round Coupe Platter
Date: Thursday, March 11
At our adult painting classes, you'll have a great time learning how to use brushstrokes and other special techniques to create your own masterpiece. The pieces look hard to paint but they're not. We make it easy!
Cost: $45 per class which includes instruction and pottery piece. Brushes will be provided or you can purchase your own for $4 each. Most projects use 2-4 brushes.
Time: Classes are from 6-9 pm. Feel free to bring snacks and a beverage.

Project: Bunny Basket
Date: Friday, March 19
Time: 6:30-8:00 pm
Now your children will be making fun projects out of clay. These handbuilt projects will be made and painted in one session. Then two (2) weeks later they'll be ready to pick up.
Working with clay is a wonderfully tactile experience that children love. In addition to being fun, it fosters creative problem solving skills and allows each child to explore their own inner artist.
Children will be encouraged to work independently of their parents. And, though parents are welcome to stay, a separate parents' waiting area will be provided.
Cost: $20 per child per class, all supplies included.
Hoppy Easter Party Age: 3 years and up
Date: Saturday, March 20, 10 am - Noon
Cost: $35 per child, includes a picture with the Easter Bunny, a cute little bunny and an Easter egg to paint, an Easter craft, supplies, lunch, goodies, and fun.
